Tema, Ghana: – Seaweld Engineering recently completed a vessel repair and maintenance service on the Barge “Mahakam”. The project aimed to cut anchor support on the barge and this took place at the dry dock of the tema shipyard from the 27th to the 29th of August. Project Personnel included one welder, fabricator, safety officer and scaffolding inspector.
The project started with the erection of scaffolds which served as access points and platforms for our able welders and fabricators to stand on to cut fenders using the gouging touch.
Anchor support is a bumper used to absorb the kinetic energy of a vessel berthing against a jetty, quay wall or other vessels. anchor support are typically used to prevent damage to vessels and berthing structures.
Lightweight construction and accommodation vessels such as the Mahakam are involved in the provision of hookups and commissioning facilities for offshore installations, lifesaving operations, recovery of survivors from sea and other salvage operations when required.
