Tema – Ghana, Seaweld Engineering Ltd. completed scaffolding, and vessel repair works onboard the Teras Conquest 1, a Singapore-registered 3-legged Jack-Up vessel working on the shores of Ghana.

The scope of the work stretched across three phases and took about a month to complete. The Initial phase included repair works which involved gouging and replacing a damaged portion of a clamp on one of the jack-up beams.

The second phase consisted of three stages: the erection of the first hanging scaffold platform under the vessel, gouging of the clamp and surface preparation. The final stage saw the erection of the second hanging platform on the jib crane’s boom. The third and final phase included chipping and painting of the crane boom and dismantling the scaffold platforms after the completion of all repair works.

The scaffolding and repair works required the expertise of three scaffolders, one scaffold inspector, three welders, an HSEQ Officer and a speed boat operator. The job also required Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), testing of the welding padeyes, and a load test, all carried out successfully.

Tema Shipyard Ltd. & Teras Conquest 1 Singapore, clients for the job, were very impressed with the quality of work done and the time it took the Seaweld team to complete the job. Subsequently, they rated Seaweld excellent on its customer satisfaction survey.

We take deep pride in our success as we continue to enhance marine repairs and maintenance services.
